Joseph Dantani Ali, MPH, RN

Founder and CEO

Deroad Technology LLC was founded by Joseph Dantani Ali, MPH, RN, a William Foege Fellow at Emory University, a registered nurse with clinical training at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Ghana, and a veteran of five years implementing joint US Department of Defense and State Department health programmes across Africa through the African Peacekeeping Rapid Response Partnership. Before founding Deroad, Joseph served as Human Resources Director and Medical Planning Officer at 37 Military Hospital, Accra (Ghana's premier military hospital), managing over 500 clinical staff and emergency medical operations for more than a decade. He received the Republic of Ghana Presidential Award for COVID-19 Response Excellence in 2021. He contributed to United Nations Peacekeeping Operations medical standards, including the Medical Manual and Contingent-Owned Equipment Manual.

The company was built on a single observation: the barriers to healthcare access in rural Georgia and the barriers in rural West Africa are the same problem (distance, cost, staffing, and infrastructure) wearing different clothes.

Our Story

Healthcare is not simply a clinical service.

A system of

  • People
  • Organizations
  • Infrastructure
  • Technology
  • Data
  • Logistics
  • Decisions

It is a system of people, organizations, infrastructure, technology, data, logistics, and decisions. Deroad Technology works across that system.

We combine public health strategy, healthcare operations, data, technology, and human-centered design to help organizations understand complex challenges, develop practical solutions, implement change, and measure impact.

Our innovation platform, Dero(a)d™, extends that mission into the physical environment, connecting physical access points with telehealth, diagnostics, laboratories, pharmacy, healthcare organizations, automation, and digital infrastructure. At the center of the network is D3C™, an operational intelligence layer designed to connect, monitor, coordinate, and improve distributed healthcare environments.

Where We Work

At the intersection of five disciplines

Most healthcare challenges cross more than one of these areas. Our team works across all of them, so solutions hold up in practice, not just on paper.

Public Health

Understanding populations, equity, and community needs.

Healthcare Operations

Knowing how care is actually delivered day to day.

Data & Analytics

Turning information into evidence and decisions.

Technology

Applying digital and physical technology with purpose.

Implementation

Turning plans into programs that hold up in practice.

Core Principle
We don’t begin with technology. We begin with the healthcare problem.

A technology company may begin with what its product can do. Deroad begins with the healthcare problem, and then determines whether the solution requires:

  • People
  • Processes
  • Data
  • Software
  • Telehealth
  • Diagnostics
  • Automation
  • Robotics
  • Sensors
  • Infrastructure
  • Partnerships
